DESTINATION:
The Białowieża Forest , the oldest in Europe, is a precious treasure of biodiversity and pristine beauty. This extraordinary forest extends over 1,500 km² in northern Poland.
Here, among vast clearings and endless birch forests, over 50 species of mammals and 250 species of birds live undisturbed. Among all of them, the symbol of these lands is undoubtedly the European bison , the largest land mammal on the European continent.
We decided this animal deserved a tour dedicated exclusively to it. Over the next five days, we’ll be taking an expedition around the Białowieża Forest in search of bison and more!
ABOUT THE TOUR:
Our expedition will start from Warsaw Chopin Airport , where a private transfer will take us directly to the Białowieża Forest, Europe’s last great primary forest and one of the world’s most iconic locations for wildlife photography .
We will spend five days immersed in the nature of the Białowieża Forest , exploring unique environments, ancient woodlands, and clearings home to the European bison , the undisputed symbol of this region. During the trip, we will travel to different areas of the forest to maximize observation opportunities and enjoy a profound, authentic photographic experience, dedicated exclusively to nature lovers.
We have planned at least six photo sessions , alternating short hikes and car trips to reach the most promising spots, with the aim of photographing not only the European bison, but also moose, deer, roe deer, foxes, birds of prey and, with a bit of luck, traces of the more elusive fauna such as wolves or lynxes.
Sessions will take place in the morning and at sunset , during the most favorable light periods for nature photography. Depending on the animals’ behavior, we can adjust the intensity of the activities, alternating field sessions with relaxing moments in our welcoming facility , where we can review the day’s images, discuss photography techniques, and delve deeper into them with the tour leader.
This tour is designed for those who want to have an immersive experience in the Białowieża Forest, improve their nature photography, and observe European wildlife up close in one of the continent’s most extraordinary ecosystems.
During our photo sessions, our main subject will undoubtedly be the European bison . We may see multiple sightings each day, exploring different areas in search of the most beautiful and ideal photographic settings . Each session will be mobile, without hides, allowing us to photograph these majestic animals from the ground.
During the journey, we do not exclude the possibility of observing other animals such as wolves, moose, deer, foxes, raccoon dogs and, with a bit of luck, even the famous European lynx.
We will travel in a comfortable 9-seater vehicle, which will allow us to move with our photographic equipment in complete comfort .
At all times, you will be accompanied by two tour leaders , professional photographers with expertise in European wildlife, ready to assist you and share their knowledge.
It will be a true expedition. That’s why we’ve chosen an immersive and convivial stay experience.
We will be staying in a large farmhouse with 10 beds, 4 rooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen and unlimited Wi-Fi.
We will be able to organize the rooms in the best way and spend the evenings cooking and eating together in our facility.
On the first day, during the journey to our destination, we’ll stop to shop for supplies for the following days, purchasing everything we need. We’ll organize our meals independently for a truly comprehensive group experience.
Everyone will be free to choose what to buy and what menus to prepare, and we will help each other in the kitchen.
Of course, nothing will stop us from visiting some local restaurant for lunch or dinner, if we want to try local food and famous Polish pierogi.
DAILY PROGRAM
Day 1
- 12.00: Arrival at Warsaw Chopin Airport and private transfer to our hotel in Białowieża Forest with a stop at the first supermarket for all the shopping for the following days. (About 4 Hours)
- 6.00 PM: Arrival at the property, check-in, relaxation and dinner
Day 2 to 4
- 5.00 AM: Wake up before dawn and set off for the photo shoot.
- 10.30 AM: Return to the facility to rest and have lunch,
- 2.00 PM: After lunch and a short break, we will continue our research until sunset.
- 6.00 PM: Return after sunset, dinner and overnight stay.
- We will move to the main locations of the park every day trying to optimize sightings.
Day 5
- 8.30 AM: Wake up and breakfast
- 9.30 AM: Private transfer to Warsaw Chopin Airport
- 2.00 PM: Arrival at the airport and greetings with the group

❓ Frequently Asked Questions ❓
What equipment will I need?
During this tour we will always shoot in open fields and the distances will vary greatly. In some cases, with a bit of luck, we will be able to shoot comfortably with a lens of about 300mm, while in other cases the distances may require a longer lens, especially for those who prefer portraits.
For environmental images, we recommend lenses between 300 and 400mm. For close-ups and portraits, a 500-600mm lens will be more suitable.
We don’t consider the easel essential for this itinerary, but the choice is very personal. We will be on the move often, and using a tripod could slow down sessions and travel. However, if it is deemed essential, it can be used without any problems.

What clothing will I need?
Temperatures could be cold and the ground wet. We therefore recommend waterproof boots, heavy pants, and a jacket. A hat and gloves are also essential for harsh winter weather.

Which flight should I buy?
It is essential to be at Warsaw Chopin Airport by 12:00 noon on December 10 and depart after 4:00 p.m. on December 14. You have the flexibility to choose flights that respect these times and, if necessary, land or depart even earlier or later.
Near the airport, you will find several options for additional overnight stays, offering you a convenient solution in case of need. If necessary, after your registration, you can access our dedicated assistance to receive help also on purchasing flights.
Will there be a dedicated Whatsapp group?
Yes, a Whatsapp group will be created for all official communications in view of the event.
The group will remain open even after the Workshop, so that we can all keep in touch and receive support in the future.
Terms and Conditions
By booking by paying a deposit to the organizers, you accept the following clauses:
1. As this is a pre-registration, the organizer will endeavor to promptly communicate any possible changes in the price of the tour, characterized by cost fluctuations. An annual price fluctuation of approximately 5% is highly likely if the booking is made more than a year in advance. in relation to potential variations in the prices of ground services (for example variations influenced by the fluctuating costs of electricity, fuel and others).
2. The price of the entire workshop will be paid through the payment methods offered by the organizing body, such as bank transfer, PayPal, credit card or cash according to the procedures and deadlines established by the organizers, taking charge of the transaction costs.
3. In case the tour does not take place due to the organizer, the entire amount paid will be refunded.
4. In case of cancellation for personal reasons of any kind and in any case not dependent on the organizer, the deposit and any other registration fees will be retained as reimbursement of expenses.
5. In case of cancellation for personal reasons within 60 days of departure, the entire balance of the tour will be required.
